The sea surface temperature off of the coast of North and South Carolina is currently 80-83°F. The sea surface temperature off of the coast of Georgia and Florida is also around 85-86°F. The Gulf Stream carries sea surface temperatures of 85-87°F around the tip of Florida and Georgia and then 83-85°F off of the coast of the Carolinas.

Offshore lots of dolphin. Most of the boats released white marlin. One caught and released six white marlin. Inshore boats caught tailor bluefish and spanish mackerel. An all day inshore trip caught amberjacks, dolphin and a barracuda. Open boats caught amberjacks, a cobia and released sharks in the morning; in the afternoon they caught tailor bluefish and false albacore.

Headed to steeples in am. SE NC fishing report: flounder and black drum hitting now
Anglers arent waiting on the fall season to catch fish, and two of the most active targets lately have been flounder and black drum. Flounder fishing has picked up considerably in the past week with more keepers and flounder now hitting at all their usual spots.
