So far, so good. It blew the dickens all night and our wind meter clocked 78 here at the house...and we are only one story so take that for what its worth.
Billy ran over to Sam's early (before the wind switches and we flood) to check on the Tuna Fever and she is fine - he'll be fishing on Monday!

Almost all of the Oregon Inlet fishing Center boats left the marina for less exposed locations in anticipation of hurricane Earl's passage by or through this area. Offshore lots of dolphin. Most of the boats released white marlin. One caught and released six white marlin. Inshore boats caught tailor bluefish and spanish mackerel. An all day inshore trip caught amberjacks, dolphin and a barracuda. Open boats caught amberjacks, a cobia and released sharks in the morning; in the afternoon they caught tailor bluefish and false albacore.

Headed to steeples in am. Set out 2miles shy of steeples not much happening until we got to deep steeple then things started to pop.Blackfins at first then the wahoos, then about 225 # Blue one crashed on shortrigger got everything cleared started backing down,then wtf 50w tiagra siezedand hook pulled.Ended day with 5 wahoos 4 blackfins and a fried tiagra.

Another overnight trip 50 to 60 miles out for more Big Red Grouper. Had to work for them a little harder this time and the triggerfish bite wasn't as strong as last week. Tanner had the hot stick this trip!

19 white marlin and one sailfish were caught and released by the offshore boats. Dolphin were also caught. Inshore boats caught tailor bluefish and spanish mackerel. Open boats caught tailor bluefish and flounders. Miss Oregon Inlet caught a variety of fish including flounders.

Anglers arent waiting on the fall season to catch fish, and two of the most active targets lately have been flounder and black drum. Flounder fishing has picked up considerably in the past week with more keepers and flounder now hitting at all their usual spots.
